WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader s NPCs for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with a The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a positive and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was altered a bit, with some new features added. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies even if those items are from another set of equipment.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available when certain milestones are reached.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a couple of choices. They can make use of Flightstones, which are a general upgrade currency available to everyone players, or crests, which are more specific and consumed during upgrades at specific levels of the item. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests can only be used on gear of a specific rank, and every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated may require as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another significant modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. It's best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
